Who Is Luisa?

Luisa Piccarreta was born April 23, 1865, at Corato, in the province of Bari, Italy. At the age of 9, upon receiving her First Holy Communion, Luisa's mystical experiences began. At age 16, Luisa entered upon her life's work as a victim soul.

During her life, Luisa was under the direction of Spiritual Directors and Confessors nominated by the Archbishop of the diocese. One of her Directors was Blessed Fr. Annibale Maria de Francia, who was also assigned as Curator of Luisa's writings, which consist of 36 volumes written about the Divine Will of God.

Luisa died in the odor of sanctity on March 4, 1947, at the age of 82. For over sixty years, confined to her bed, she was sustained by the Holy Eucharist, which was for her, "Food indeed"!
